Using Blogs/Wikis/Websites for Computer Curriculum

As I read through the class material this week, I ponder about the appropriate uses of blogging in the particular areas of Computer Information Systems (CIS) and Computer Science (CS). I had heard the comment from other instructors that students from these areas were not into writing, but I wonder...is this based on fact or fantasy?

What if we have been creating stereotypes all along by assuming that only English Major students or Liberal Arts Studies students like to write? What if, given the right opportunity and motivation, there is a potential writer in all of us? Microsoft Word 2010 has an update blog feature...why not explore the possibilities?

This blog will be an opportunity to explore the creation of blogs/wikis/websites in the CIS and CS areas with the interest of enhancing the students learning experience by creating opportunities for exchange of ideas. This of course, writen from the instructor's perspective on planning/designing/developing activities for use in the classroom.

After all..this is not the first time that someone has gone where "no one has gone before"
